Speakers
Dr. Pullanagari Reddy was born and raised in an agricultural family in Mahabubnagar district located in the state of Telangana, India. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University (ANGRAU), Telangana, India, and a Master’s degree in Agronomy from University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), GKVK, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He earned a PhD degree in an area of remote sensing from the School of Agriculture and Environment, Massey University, and has been working as a senior research officer in this same group since the completion of his PhD. Dr. Reddy’s main area of interest is precision agriculture studies where he works on hyperspectral sensing and imaging combined with advanced analytics such as machine learning and statistical learning techniques to create useful and robust information from the remote sensed data.
What will you learn?
• Collecting hyperspectral data from pastures using the ASD FieldSpec in combination with artificial probe
• Characterising and quantifying biophysical and biochemical features of pasture using remote sensing (proximal and airborne)
• Use of the ASD FieldSpec for ground truthing
• Implementing remote sensing techniques for end-to-end precision agriculture
What is the ASD FieldSpec 4?
A fast, precise and truly field-portable spectroradiometer designed by researchers, for researchers to perform solar spectral reflectance, radiance, and irradiance measurements.
