WISER (MS-711|MS-712) Spectroradiometer
The combination of Eko’s MS-711 and MS-712 spectrometers, called WISER, is a best in class solution for the most accurate solar spectral data collection in the 300nm to 1700nm range. Eko spectroradiometers are designed for permanent outdoor installation, but are also suited as a portable reference spectrometer.
Solar spectral irradiance varies as a function of air-mass and composition of the atmosphere, so measuring spectral irradiance is essential to understand the effects of non-uniform spectral energy distribution of the sun. While thermopile pyrheliometers and pyranometers are most suitable to quantify the total DNI or global radiation (W/m2), spectroradiometers give extra detail about the spectral energy distribution (W/m2/nm).
The MS-711 and MS-712 outdoor solar spectrometers are unique all-weather instruments with no moving parts and temperature controlled sensors for maximum measurement stability. The Eko MS-711 measures from 300nm to 1100nm, while the MS-712 covers the near-infrared (NIR) range between 900nm to 1700nm. Both spectrometers are accurately calibrated to NIST standards and issued with a calibration uncertainty budget.
Temperature change of the spectrometer sensor can have a strong effect on the measurement uncertainty. Sensors inside the MS-711 and MS712 main body are kept at a stable temperature to provide the best performance over a wide operating temperature range of -10°C to 50°C. The rugged design of the optical diffuser and input optics make the MS-700N superior to any fiber optic input spectroradiometer, which are susceptible to mechanical vibration and handling. Eko MS spectroradiometers are designed for permanent installation, but are also suited as a portable reference spectrometer .
Both spectroradiometers have a separate power supply and are controlled through RS232 / 422 by a PC or data logger. Included PC software provides functions for operation, data management and data visualization. The open command protocol for defined system control functions allows end users to develop their own software for integration and control l.
