Product Description

qpod 2e

qpod 2e™ is customisable temperature-controlled sample compartment for use with fiber optic spectrometers.

Quantum Northwest frequently mount a qpod 2e in a larger enclosure and surround it by various optical components, power supplies, pumps and electronics. Thus, a truly custom prototype spectrometer can be provided at very low cost.

  • Peltier‐driven for rapid, precise control ‐30 °C to +110 °C
  • Calibrated using a NIST-traceable thermometer
  • Variable speed magnetic stirring
  • Dry gas purge
  • Thermometer probe input
  • No optics included
  • USB or wireless Bluetooth control
  • Optional AR-coated fused-silica lens package
  • Spherical mirrors available with UV-enhanced aluminum surface to
    enhance excitation or emitted light

Computer control:

The qpod 2e is controlled from your computer via either USB or wireless Bluetooth. Run the program Q-Blue to:

  • Set temperatures
  • Plot sample holder and/or probe temperature vs time
  • Perform temperature ramps
  • Automate temperature based experiments via script control

Complete Package:

  • qpod 2e – temperature-controlled sample compartment
  • Q-Blue – computer program to control temperature and magnetic stirring
  • AC power adapter – to provide power to the qpod 2e
  • USB cable – to be used if Bluetooth is unavailable
  • BATH 100 – bucket and fittings to provide circulating water to the Peltier unit
  • Temperature calibration certificate
  • Tool kit, containing a hex screw driver for optical adjustments, a stir bar for use
    in the cuvette a set assorted optical slits to limit optic access to the cuvette plastic
    blanks to cover unused optical ports on the qpod 2e

Additional Options:

  • QCL-UV – AR-coated fused-silica collimating lens with SMA 905 fiber optic
    connector and fiber optic steering plate
  • QIL-UV – AR-coated fused-silica imaging lens doublet with SMA 905 fiber
    optic connector and fiber optic steering plate
  • QMP – spherical mirror plug with steering plate to enhance excitation or emitted light
  • QFH – filter holder for 12.5 mm diameter filter – mounts to a lens assembly
  • QPOL-47-215 – polariser for mounting on the QIL-UV lens system – includes an
    Edmund Optics 47-215 Linear Glass Polarizer
