Description
MS-711
The MS-711 outdoor solar spectrometer is a unique all-weather spectral sensor with no moving parts to wear out. The detector core is temperature-controlled to provide long-term stability and accurate irradiance measurement data in the 300nm to 1100nm spectral range (UV/Visible/NIR).
Solar spectral irradiance varies as a function of air-mass and composition of the atmosphere, so measuring spectral irradiance is essential to understand the effects of non-uniform spectral energy distribution of the sun. While thermopile pyrheliometers and pyranometers are most suitable to quantify the total DNI or global radiation (W/m2), spectroradiometers give extra detail about the spectral energy distribution (W/m2/nm).
MS-711 is accurately calibrated with traceability to NIST international standards and issued with a calibration uncertainty budget. The rugged design of the optical diffuser and input optics make the MS-711 superior to any fiber optic input spectroradiometer, which are susceptible to mechanical vibration and handling. Eko solar spectroradiometers are designed for permanent installation, but are also suited as a portable reference spectrometer.
MS-711 has a separate power supply unit and is controlled through RS232/422 by a PC or data logger. Included PC software provides functions for operation, data management and data visualization. The open command protocol for defined system control functions allows end users to develop their own software for integration and control
